TU Delft: TU Delft retains 57th place in the QS World University Ranking

Other Dutch universities also score well in the ranking, with a total of nine Dutch universities in the top 200 of the ranking, which rates no fewer than 1,300 universities. For years Massachusetts Institute of Technology has led the ranking, followed by Stanford and Harvard.

The major factor in determining the ranking is reputation: the academic reputation combined with the reputation among employers of the graduates of an institution makes up half of the score. This year TU Delft lost points on the number of students per scientist, which counts for ten percent of the score.

The QS ranking is one of the leading international university rankings. Each of the rankings is put together a little differently. The rankings are primarily important to universities with regard to attracting international talent, as they are regularly consulted by students and researchers from all over the world.
