Ural Federal University: GSEM BA International Economics and Business Reconfirms the Prestigious International EFMD Accreditation For 5 Years
On June 8, 2021 the decision to re-accredit the programme “International Economics and Business” of GSEM UrFU for 5 years was made at the meeting of the EFMD Programme Accreditation Board.
“We have confirmed for a third time one of the most prestigious international accreditations in the field of business education, and for the first time it has been awarded for the longest possible term – 5 years, says Dmitry Tolmachev, GSEM director. – While maintaining our position among other internationally accredited business schools (with either EQUIS, or EFMD accredited programme, or AACSB), we set new ambitious goals for the future! We are grateful to our colleagues, partners who support us in this progress”.
“International Economics and Business” Programme is the first and the only one at the moment in Russia that has been accredited by EFMD for 5 years. As prof. Zhanna Belayeva, the head of IEB programme, and GSEM academic director mentioned: “This is a great success of the whole team that confers the highest quality of education at the level of the world’s leading business schools, including such aspects of modern business education as internationalization, practical focus, digitalization and sustainable development”.

The International Economics and Business programme has been accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) since 2015 (one of the two programmes in Russia and the only one outside Moscow), confirming compliance with the highest international standards of business education. The programme is taught 60% in English by UrFU professors, foreign visiting professors and corporate partners. In 2020, the programme became the best educational programme of Ural Federal University.
