Justice Magrey inaugurates E- Seva Kendra, other facilities at District Court Complex Kishtwar; ‘Brisk access to justice main motive of Judiciary’
Kishtwar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Judge, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey along with Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul inaugurated E- Services and other facilities here at District Court Complex during their visit to this mountainous district.
Justice Magrey and Justice Koul inaugurated E- Seva Kendra, Kiosk Legal Desk, Ladies Bar Room and Vidhik Seva Kendra at District Court Complex Kishtwar. They also inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic at Sub Division Chatroo.
Justice Magrey, who is also the Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA), in his presidential address, asked the judicial officers to put in best efforts for speedy delivery of Justice to litigants and ensure effective hearing on each and every hearing. He said providing brisk access to justice is the main objective of the judiciary.
He issued directions to DC Kishtwar to identify land for expansion of Kishtwar court complex as the present building is insufficient to cover the need of future.
“The availing of the modern digital services the litigants and advocates are able to file their cases with much ease as compared to manual filing which is time consuming and expensive.” he added.
He further said that legal service authorities are playing a pivotal role in reaching out to people in need and opening of these E- services have provided a new window to the litigants.
Justice Vinod Chaterjee Koul, while addressing the participants, stated that Kishtwar is the first District that has got this facility. He said similar facilities will be provided to all the districts of J&K for which the High Court authorities are committed and working hard for achieving this target within the shortest possible time.
The VIDHIK SEVA KENDRA will enable a litigant to file a lawsuit in any court of J&K through virtual mode and obtain the status of litigation and cases with one click. The service will also enable online purchase of stamp papers, apply and obtain Adhaar-based digital signature, booking of Mulakat appointments etc.
The HC Judges also monitored the demonstration of the system and expressed satisfaction that the application of a litigant reached the High Court within just a minute and within ten minutes the litigant would get its acknowledgement.
Principal District and Sessions Judge, Y.P Kotwal delivered the welcome address, while Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Yash Paul Sharma presented vote of thanks, DLSA Secretary Imran Wani hosted the stage.
The day-long event was also attended by Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma, SSP, Shafqat Bhat, CPC Anoop Sharma CPC, Munsiff JMIC, Mehjabeen Akhter, Judicial officers and office bearers of Bar Association Kishtwar. The Bar Association Kishtwar presented a memorandum of demands to Justice Ali Mohammad Magray.
