Odisha Govt cancelled Higher secondary examination in State

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Friday cancelled the Annual Higher Secondary Examination, 2021 of the Council Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) keeping in mind the health and safety issues of the students, teachers and parents in view of Covid-19.

Earlier on June 5, the Government had constituted an expert committee to suggest objective criteria for alternative assessment of the concerned students. On the basis of the recommendations of the committee, the CHSE has taken the decision. Alternatively, marks will be awarded to the Regular Examinees in Theory Papers and Theory Components of papers on basis of the performance of the examinee in the 10th Board Examination.

For this, a detailed subject mapping has been prepared. Scores in Theory Papers for Ex-Regular Examinees will be awarded on the basis of their performance in the previous CHSE Examination.

Scores will be awarded in the Practical and Project Component of a paper both for Regular and Ex-Regular Examinees at their Higher Secondary School level.

The Scores awarded at the High Secondary School level will be scrutinised and moderated. A student not satisfied with the result can opt to appear at the examination in the offline mode which will be conducted when the Covid situation improves.

The details of the notification will be uploaded in the CHSE website. The results will be declared in the second week of August.
