Sericulture department aware farmers about Govt schemes; DDC Chairperson Reasi seeks roadmap for covering maximum farmers
REASI : To spread awareness about various government schemes, the Sericulture Department today organised a farmers’ awareness camp here at Mulberry Nursery Granmore.
Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Reasi, Saraf Singh Nag was chief guest on the occasion.
In the programme, over 30 shelf rearing kits were also distributed among the farmers by the chairperson in the presence of senior officers and functionaries of the department.
The Chairperson impressed upon the officers and field functionaries to redouble their efforts for effective implementation of Govt schemes to benefit the farmers. He said that along with Agriculture, sericulture can also become a major sector to improve the economic condition of the farmers.
He also said that the Government is committed to give maximum benefits to the farming community but for this all departments have to work in close coordination.
The Chairperson further urged the field departments to prepare a roadmap to cover maximum farmers under various schemes of sericulture and agriculture departments.
Among others, District Sericulture Officer Sushma Gautam; Sarpanch Panchayat Gran Bariotian B, Kartar Chand; field incharges and field staff attended the Programme.
