NYK Jammu gears up to celebrate 7th Int’l Yoga Day
Jammu: Continuing its yearly practice, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Jammu & Kashmir, is celebrating International Day of Yoga with great zeal and gaiety by organizing impressive functions at State, District, Block and Village level with the active participation of lakhs of Youth from Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals, Sports clubs, NGOs, SHGs, National Youth Volunteers, Village community and general masses.
The activities are being hosted in collaboration with UT Government, District Administration, Central University, AYUSH Patanjali, Art of living, Yoga institutions, NGOs for promotion of yoga among lakhs of youth especially in rural areas.
The YK has started this campaign since Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India took the initiative to get the world benefited by practicing Yoga as a means to achieve perfect harmony of the body and mind through sound physical, mental and spiritual health.
On the behest of the Prime Minister of India during his address to the UN General Assembly on September 27,2014, June 21 was declared as International Day of Yoga. The United Nations General Assembly approved the proposal by consensus with a record 177 countries to declare June 21st as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, in 2014.
Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India inaugurated 1st International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2015 which was also observed by over 177 countries all over the world.
Since June 21,2015, Since 21.06.2015, NYKS, J&K Successfully organizing Yoga programnmes at UT level in both the capital cities Jammu and Srinagar and invited union Minister Dr. Jatinedra Singh, MPs MLAs, Divisional Commissioner, Senior bureaucrats, Yoga Gurus, prominent citizen and involved thousands of Youth in Yoga practices.
This year also Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu, has geared up to celebrate “7th International Day of Yoga” with great zeal and gaiety in all the 20 Blocks of Jammu District and 7 Blocks of Samba District.
The NYK has set a target to reach out 15 thousand persons by organizing yoga activities at District, Block, Village and family level with active participation of National Youth Volunteers, Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandal, Sports Clubs, NGOs, SHGs, Youth Volunteers, village community and general masses.
