Every Panchayat to have youth club to address concerns of young generation: DC Shopian

 

Shopian: Laying emphasis on the creation of Youth engagement avenues at the Panchayat level, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today directed for establishing Youth Clubs in every Panchayat across the district.

The Youth Clubs shall be established for constructive activities and addressing all the concerns of the young generation and shall act as the nerve centres for all youth programs, community involvement, IEC, Sports & Cultural activities, the DC maintained.

Vaishya said this during the meeting of Mission Youth at Mini Secretariat, Arhama, and a threadbare discussion was also held on the Youth engagement and Livelihood generation programmes in the district.

Emphasizing on effective execution of the programme, the DC directed the concerned officers to focus on effective implementation of youth-oriented schemes on-ground so that the unemployed youth of the district can avail the benefits of various schemes meant for their better future. He further called for convergence and linkages of existing schemes with the proposed ones to yield better results.

Highlighting the importance of the scheme, the DC said “MUMKIN” scheme is a livelihood generation scheme launched by the Government through which aspiring eligible unemployed youth can avail benefits.

He stated that it is important to incorporate the young generation’s perspective in government policy and ensure their participation and representation at all levels.

Directions were also passed for guiding youth regarding benefits of different schemes and establishment of District Youth Clubs in each Panchayats of the district to engage them fully so that they can get rid of the negative thoughts and make their future shine like a bright star.

The DC exhorted upon the officers present to bring more youth under the ambit of the scheme by disseminating awareness among the masses so that more and more unemployed youth are benefitted.

Stressing on the need to extend Psycho-Social Support to the youth, he instructed for establishing Counseling Centres in the district for better counseling to the youth.

Among others Chief Education Officer, Tehsildars, Assistant Director Employment, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Block Manager, NRLM, Block Development Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.
