PKU Medical Innovation and Development Forum of Integrative Medicine held
Peking: On June 12, Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) and Shi Xuemin Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Foundation jointly hosted PKU Medical Innovation and Development Forum of Integrative Medicine, whose theme is “Inheriting essence and keeping innovation”. A total of over 400 experts and scholars from various fields of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, colleagues and students from all walks of life participated in the forum. The number of online hits reached over 600 million.
Qiao Jie, executive vice president of PKU, president of PKUHSC, president of Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH) and member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Shi Xuemin, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and master of Chinese medicine, and Yu Wenming, director of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, addressed the forum.
Wu Xianzhong, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Tianjin Integrative Medicine Institute of Acute Abdominalgia, and Xie Zhufan, the first director of Institute of Integrative Medicine of Peking University and one of the founders of China Association of Integrative Medicine (CAIM), sent their congratulations to the conference through video and mail respectively.
The Department of Integrative Medicine of PKUHSC then signed a cooperation agreement with Shi Xuemin Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Foundation.
Officials and medical professionals from various departments and institutions jointly opened the Special Exhibition on Innovation and Development of Integrative Medicine at Peking University, which is scheduled to hold at PKUHSC from June 12 to September 12. The exhibition will focus on such themes as “the development of ancient Chinese medicine”, “the development of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in modern times”, “traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) moving towards the world”, “the development of integrative medicine at PKUHSC”, and it will display important exhibits such as cultural relics of TCM, manuscripts of ancient books and prescriptions of TCM, which shows the construction and development of the integrative medicine discipline at PKUHSC and its efforts to promote the high-quality development of integrative medicine in the new era.
