The edtech leader generates a booked revenue of 40% of the total revenue through Repeat & Referral enrolments in Q1’FY22

Mumbai: upGrad, South Asia’s largest online higher edtech leader is growing by leaps and bounds and has announced a 135% rise in the Repeat & Referral enrolments in AMJ’21 (April-May-June) as compared to the same quarter, last year, thus creating a booked revenue of 0ver 40% of the total revenue in Q1’FY22.

With 100+ industry-driven courses and meaningful alumni engagement initiatives including exclusive leadership webinars, personalised career mentorship, regular community, and subject-specific newsletters, and personalised job recommendation, the edtech leader is also receiving higher enrolment intents from 85+ countries. The quarter closed a maximum number of enrolments from the Data vertical thus making it a winner, which in turn is indicative of the career trends that are shaping up the industry/job market currently.

“We are thrilled with the Q1 results which reinforce our learners’ trust. We are not just a content library, but our deliverables go beyond hand-holding each learner throughout the course module, by putting him/her through rigorous industry-driven graded assignments, and also enabling them with the best career opportunities that match their skill sets and professional competencies. Such personalised after-course services help our alumni make the best career transitions, thus making upGrad their trusted LifeLongLearning partner,” concluded Mayank Kumar, Co-founder & MD, upGrad.

An upGrad learner Kavitha MS, returned to the workforce after a career gap of 13+ years and is currently working as a Project Manager with a Global IT Firm. “While I used to manage projects back in 2007, after such a long gap, I was not sure of my prospects in the IT space in 2021. The Executive PG Programme in Data Science and the M.Sc. in Data Science boosted my confidence and demonstrated my capabilities to both, myself and the employer,” said Kavitha.

“A house full of children during the pandemic made things quite difficult. I would often feel lonely and struggle to ensure the quality of my work and also had challenges with the developer environment. But upGrad’s student mentor was always there for me who not only responded with understanding but would also keep checking if things worked out fine,” she added. Kavitha initially enrolled herself for an Executive PG Programme in Data Science and then moved to pursue a Master’s (MSc in Data Science), thus setting a classic example of how LifeLongLearning can play an integral role in skipping the career redundancy.

The global edtech leader closed FY21 with a 230% increase in enrolments through Repeat & Referrals and is confident to triple the count by the end of the current fiscal.
