IIM Kozhikode Library and Information Centre Launches Online Quiz for Community Members to Mark Silver Jubilee Year
Kozhikode: The Library and information Centre (LIC), Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, leading business school in India, has kicked off its activities for the Silver Jubilee Year by launching an online quiz for the IIMK community. The weekly online quiz called “Know Your Library and Information Centre” will be conducted on its quiz portal and all the questions will be related to IIMK LIC, its huge resource base, services and its infrastructure etc.
IIMK is also one of the few Centres for Development of Digital Libraries in the world and is a country leader in resource management and knowledge dissemination. It is a cornerstone that supports learning, teaching, and research activities with a variety of knowledge and information resources, facilities, and latest information and communication technologies. In addition to print materials, the library offers thousands of electronics books, journals, magazines, videos, cases, newspapers which have proven valuable resources for students and IIMK faculty alike. The LIC also hosts India’s only Indian Business Museum, established in 2013, which is the star attraction of the IIMK Campus.
Appreciating the Library & Information Centre for this intra-community initiative, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK said it is a fun way to create awareness about LIC’s resources and enhance the patron’s knowledge about its services and facilities. Earlier in the day, Dean (Programme & International Relations) & Chair Person of the LIC Committee Prof. Shubhashis Dey had launched the online quiz in the presence of other library committee members, Prof Sidhartha Padhi, Prof Nycil George, Librarian Appasaheb Naikal and other staff members.
The opening day of the online quiz received an enthusiastic response with more than 205 participants – students, staff and faculty members registering their response. LIC will be handing over gift vouchers to two winning responses every week (Wednesday).
