Sharda University join hands with MESC for CoE & Creative Entrepreneurship for Media and Entertainment Sector
Breakthrough in Media Education created with the collaboration between School of Media, Film and Entertainment (SU) and Media and Entertainment Skill Council (MESC)
Greater Noida: Amidst the gloom of the pandemic and challenges posed by Covid-19, here’s something to cheer about for those dreaming of making a career in Media and Entertainment industry. The School of Media, Film and Entertainment (SMFE) – Sharda University, in collaboration with Media and Entertainment Skill Council (MESC) will soon be establishing a Centre of Excellence & Creative Entrepreneurship for Media and Entertainment Sector at Sharda University’s NCR campus. An MoU was signed today afternoon in a blended meeting between MESC and Sharda University in presence of Mr. Mohit Soni – CEO of MESC, Mr. Rajesh Turakhia founder of Frameboxx 2.0, Mr. VLVSS Subba Rao – Former Senior Economic Advisor Education of MHRD; Mr. Salim Arif – Actor, Director and Writer; and Manvendra Shukul – CEO of Lakshya Digital, among top officials from Sharda University.
Mr. VLVSS Subba Rao congratulated SU and MESC on signing this MoU while Mr. Mohit Soni called this collaboration ‘historic’ and ‘pathsetting’ for all others. Mr. Y K Gupta – Pro Chancellor of Sharda Group said such initiatives are the need of the hour. Prof. Dr. Sibaram Khara – Vice Chancellor of Sharda University shared that from upcoming academic year, two new undergraduate programs, integrated with apprenticeship and internship in the disciplines of Animation and Gaming, shall be jointly offered to aspirants in this field. Mr. R D Sahay, Strategic Advisor and Registrar (I/C) of Sharda University stated that curriculum of the programs offered by Sharda University under this partnership strictly follow the guidelines laid down by New Education Policy 2020 and this collaboaration shall lay foundations to skill based learning, with high focus on creating entrepreneurs and skilled workforce in this discipline.
Prof. Dr. Ritu Sood – Dean of SMFE, Sharda University added that soon SMFE and MESC will also establish an Incubation and Innovation Lab for New Age Skills under Media and Entertainment. In addition, the collaboration will also strive to generate a repository for international alliances, faculty and student exchange. Mr. Rajeev Gupta who is heading the admissions at Sharda University mentioned that other than these two new programs i.e. BSc (Animation & VFX) and BSc (Gaming), admission queries have already started pouring in for various programs offered by SMFE including BA (Journalism and Mass Communication), BA (Film and TV Production) MA (Journalism and Mass Communication), MA (Advertising, Public Relations & Corporate Communications) and PhD (Mass Communication).
