Forest division Nowshera holds ‘One Beat Guard One Panchayat’ Program

 

RAJOURI : Nowshera Forest Division conducted One Beat Guard One Panchayat Program at Marchola , Sunderbani Forest Range and provided fruit plant saplings, medicinal plants and seeds to locals for plantation.

One Beat Guard One Panchayat Programme was held at Panchayat Marchola. Sarpanch Marchola, Sukhdev Kour, Panch Bashir Ahmed , Dr Gurjinder Kour, members of Biodiversity Management Committee Marchola and locals of the village participated in the programme.

One Beat Guard One Panchayat Programme was held by Balraaj Raina, Beat Guard Salheri of Dharamsaal Forest Block of Sunderbani Forest Range. Medicinal plants, seed balls of grass, fruit trees and bamboo were distributed among all the participants. Plantation was done by Balraaj on the spot with the help of Sarpanch, Panches, members of BMC Marchola, locals of village Marchola.

People overwhelmingly welcomed this innovative step of Forest Department and said it is the first time the Forest Department came to provide the planting material at their door steps. They will care the plants as well as forest of adjoining areas. This step will create a bond between villagers and the forest department. Block officer Dharam saal along with all Beat Guards was also present in the event so that all can learn how to proceed with this programme.

In addition to One Beat Guard One Panchyat Programme a plantation drive was also held at Government Middle School Mehla, Panchayat Channi B, with the active participation of Sarpanch, Anita Sharma, Sunita Devi Ward member, Ashok Sharma BO Wild Life and other prominent persons of village, including school children.

Members of BMC also participated in the plantation drive. BO Sunderbani, Ramgeel Singh along with other field staff of Block Sunderbani organised the whole process of plantation drive.

All the events were conducted under the direct supervision of B. Mohandas, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri, Suresh Manda, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Rakesh Verma, Range Officer Sunderbani.
