The UNESCO Iraq team welcomed the visit of the #EU Ambassador, Mr. Martin Huth, to the World Heritage site of the Erbil Citadel.

Mr. Huth accompanied by Mr. Nihad Qoja, Head of the High Commission for the Revitalization of the Erbil Citadel, visited the site and appreciated the progress of the UNESCO project “Support to livelihoods through cultural heritage development”.

The project is generously funded by the European Union MADAD Fund and aims to ensure dignified, sustainable livelihoods and create economic opportunities for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Iraqis in the cultural heritage sector.
