Mumbai: KPMG in India today announced Worxogo Solutions Private Limited as winners of the first ever Global Tech Innovator Challenge (GTIC) 2021 – India Finale. Worxogo Solutions Private Limited will now represent India at the Global Tech Innovator Final slated to take place at the Global Web Summit 2021 in Lisbon in November, where they will be recognised on the global stage.
The GTIC is a marquee event by KPMG in the UK to recognise top talent in the tech innovation space of startups. This year, the competition was launched for the first time across 17 key countries. In India the initiative was led by the Emerging Giants Practice of the firm. The application process and screening saw large participation from the startup community in India. Basis multiple evaluation rounds, the finals saw participation from 15 key technology startups in India. Each of these came from different cities and addressed a unique business challenge through their solutions. The India winner will receive a one-year mentorship from KPMG in India and representation across the KPMG global network.
Manoj Kohli, Country Head, Softbank India said, “I truly loved to be on this jury as I saw many future digital transformations and if executed relentlessly, they will turn into unicorns in the long term. The unique business models coupled with superior GTM process was the hallmark of many participants. I wish the winners good luck on the global arena.”
Nimesh Kampani, Co-founder & CEO, trica (a LetsVenture group company) said, “Congratulations to the KPMG team for its maiden event with excellent and well curated startups showcased. It was a wonderful event with innovative ideas and all round and global experience of founder teams, judges and the organising team. All startups were equally good and choosing one winner was the most difficult task. Best wishes to the winner and good luck to KPMG India as they mark their name in this space.”
Amarjeet Singh, Partner & Head – Emerging Giants Program (India), KPMG in India said, “ The Global Tech Innovator Competition (GTIC) was launched as a marquee property of KPMG to focus primarily on innovative tech startups, who will be the leaders of tomorrow. Through this competition, we hope to provide a ready platform for the PE/VC community to witness some up and coming startups in India and provide them with access to a global platform, thereby helping them grow. My heartfelt congratulations to Worxogo Solutions Private Limited for their outstanding performance in the competition and I wish them the very best for representing the country at the finals scheduled to take place at the Global Web Summit in Lisbon, later in the year.”
As the winning team heads to compete at the Global Web Summit 2021, KPMG in India will stay engaged with them throughout the run-up to the finals, handholding and coaching them as they gear up to compete in a truly global business environment.
