JKRRDA Budgam organizes seminar on PMGSY status

 

BUDGAM : The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Road Development Agency (JKRRDA) Budgam today organized a daylong seminar on PMGSY status, its implications for future plans till date progress achieved with regard to road connectivity particularly touching rural and untouched areas.

The seminar was organized at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall Budgam duly attended by all concerned including officers/officials of PMGSY agency.

DDC Chairman, Nazir Ahmed Khan who was also Chief Guest on the occasion presided over the proceedings, while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza was the Guest of honor.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the introduction of this scheme has revolutionised road connectivity in rural areas as the population there now have access and are at the same advantages as the people of urban areas.

He said due to road connectivity, PMGSY not only connected untouched areas, but it also provided compensation to the persons whose proprietary land came under road projects.

Through this programme, enormous developmental, progressive and alternate employment generation avenues emerged, the DC added.

Earlier, the concerned Ex. Engineer presented in detail the future programme, plans and the status of achievements made in the district.
