DC Bandipora distributes course completion certificates among students under PMKVY; 260 students completed courses under PMKVY
Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday distributed certificates among students who completed their short term courses in different skills under Pradhan Mantri Kushal Vikash Yojana (PMKVY).
About 260 students completed their skill development courses under PMKVY and were felicitated by the DC on completing the course. The youth were imparted training in different job oriented courses including Hair Stylist, Jam, Jelly and Ketchup Processing Techniques etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the skill development will guarantee more jobs for the youth of the district and said that youth will be trained in job oriented trades so that they can get jobs in the market at earliest with handsome packages.
He said Skill development is the only treatment for the unemployment menace and said that the Skill Development initiative aims at training the youth in job-oriented skills so that they can earn their livelihood.
Stressing the youth to opt for skill development, the DC said there are several Government schemes in place through which the students are trained in several trades. He said the programmes under different departments have registered a grand success as the trained youth have proved their metal in different fields.
Dr Owais appreciated the youth for exhibiting interest in the programme and assured that more such initiatives will be taken for the benefit of the unemployed youth in the district.
Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, officials of PIA and other senior officers of the district were also present on the occasion.
