Ural Federal University: UrFU graduate became Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Kyrgyz Republic
Zharasul Abduraimov, graduate of the Ural Federal University, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. The order was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulukbek Maripov. It is noted that when deciding on a candidate for the post, Zharasul Abduraimov’s great experience in the industrial sector was taken into account. Since October 2020, he was the Government Plenipotentiary in the Osh region.
Zharasul Abduraimov was born in 1960 in the village of Gulcha, Alai district, Osh region. In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics at Kirov Ural Polytechnic Institute (now a part of UrFU) with a degree in “Mechanical Engineer of Electronic Equipment”. He is married, has two daughters and a son.
Zharasul Abduraimov used to work as an expert on the development of the industrial sector of the Kyrgyz Republic on “Joining the Eurasian Economic Union — Seizing opportunities and Eliminating risks” project of the Asian Development Bank. From May to September 2019, he worked as an adviser to the Minister of Economy of the Republic on a voluntary basis. In addition, he held the positions of managing director of «Munai Exim» LLC, representative of JONWAI Machinery Works Co., Ltd in Kyrgyzstan, president of the Futsal Federation, head of the Technical Regulation Department at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
From September 2013 to April 2015, he worked at «Kumtor Gold Company» CJSC: he was deputy director for the development of local supply, and also head of “Industrial Development and job creation in the Issyk-Kul region” project.
