Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur holds series of Janta darbars; Calls for early start of work on GDC buildings at Dudu- Basantgarh, Majalta

UDHAMPUR : Vice Chairperson, District Development Council, Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania has called for early start of work on buildings for Degree Colleges at Dudu Basantgarh and Majalta.

“Full-fledged Degree Colleges have been sanctioned and funds for the same also made available since long back. But much of the precious time has been lost fixing land/space for these buildings and pupils are being forced to study in rented buildings” she said.

She further called for immediate allotment of work/ issuance of LOA on Sulghar to Dalsar Khas road for which tenders has been opened by the agency and case submitted to the administrative department since past more than three months.

Calling for early start of the work, she said this road is lifeline for as many as 50,000 people living in the area.

Juhi was addressing a series of Janta darbars in far-flung areas of Udhampur District accompanied by Pinky Devi, DDC Latti, Mool Raj, DDC Ramnagar-I, Jattu Ram DDC Ramnagar-II, PRIs and people of the area.

While addressing Janta Darbar at Motu, she said that Motu, Panjian, Khubban, Nokain, Garh Samna Banj, Laa, Mariala, Rajundi, Sohan is a separate belt of villages jacketed by Bani, Billawar and Ramnagar tehsils and demanded special attention of the administration towards the area. She demanded augmentation of infrastructure and filling of vacant posts in the two high schools i.e GHS Mottu and GHS Babey and a Higher Secondary School at GS Banj.

She observed that Higher Secondary School at Garh Samna Banj is functioning under internal arrangement since 2010 sans post of principal, subject lecturers are adequate laboratories/playgrounds and other infrastructure. She also expressed concern over slow work on the girls’ hostel sanctioned in Garh Samna Banj to benefit the girls of the area. She further expressed concern over delay in the commissioning of water supply scheme at Motu/Sohan and completion of Hamdana-Panjian-Nokain, Sanote-Garh Samna Banj and Kamtala to Babey PMGSY roads.
