Doda district to have 10 dedicated vaccination centres for College students
DODA : District administration Doda is going to establish 10 dedicated Covid vaccination centres for inoculation of higher education students and staff ahead of starting physical class work in colleges.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vikas Sharma directed the Health department authorities to immediately set up the dedicated vaccination sites to cover the unvaccinated staff and students of colleges. He asked to constitute dedicated vaccination teams to vaccinate the left out staff members and students above 18 years and the people in the adjoining localities of the education institutions.
He was chairing a meeting with the heads of educational institutions to review preparedness with regard to the starting of physical class work of class X class XII and higher educational institutions in view of partial opening of the educational institutions as being considered by the government.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion was held during which various aspects were duly deliberated. The concerned authorities also put forth their suggestions and feedback pertaining to the matter.
The DC also sought feedback from the CEO regarding action taken in compliance to the government order, for seeking NOCs/ consent from the parents of the students so that a viable action plan can be framed to open the schools for the 10th and 12th class students. He further directed the higher education authorities to frame the action plan to start the classes of the vaccinated students in the upcoming days.
He emphasized upon the concerned authorities to ensure that appropriate COVID behaviour is followed in letter and spirit besides termed it as vital for averting exigencies.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Principal Government Degree College Doda, Principal Government Polytechnic Institute Doda, Chief Medical officer, Chief Education officer, Superintendent ITI Doda/ Bhaderwah and other concerned Heads of Institutions and Officers/Officials of District Covid Cell.
