J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Doda organises Vasuki Naag Jaagroo Mela at Gatha Temple

 

DODA : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sub Office Doda organised Vasuki Naag Jaagroo Mela at Vasuki Naag Temple Gatha Bhaderwah under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. The Festival was inaugurated by Rakesh Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, who was also the Chief Guest.

A colourful programme was presented by the renowned artists featuring Bhajan Keertan and other devotional songs. A light and Music show was also held on the history of Vasuki Naag.

Chander Kant Amar Deep, a noted writer and research scholar of the area presented a Research Paper on the religious history of Vasuki Naag.

A Plaque inscribed with the history of Vasuki Naag written on it in both English and Hindi languages was also installed at the Temple site.

The Vasuki Naag Temple is dedicated to the King of Serpents and the son of Kashyappa and Kadru, Vasuki. The Temple enshrines a single black stone piece Idol of Vasuki Naag and Jamute Vahan.

The cultural event was organised on the directions of Rahul Pandey, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and under over all supervision of Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary (Central).
