FDP on Advanced MATLAB

 

Aligarh : To enrich the faculty vitality in critical computational software skills, a five-day, ATAL-AICTE sponsored Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Advanced Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) for Scientific Computing’ of the Civil Engineering Section of the University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) began today.

Presiding over the inaugural function of the program, the Chief Guest, Prof Parvez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) said: “Higher education faculty have built careers around learning and they understand the importance of continual education. AMU is among institutions, taking the lead in the country to offer training and development opportunities for faculty through continual learning and it is hugely benefitting the university in all aspects”.

He delineated emerging areas of science and technology and the application of MATLAB as a powerful tool for engineers and scientists in multiple domains.

Prof Arshad Umar (Principal, University Polytechnic and FDP chair for the Inaugural Session) elaborated the use of MATLAB in solving complex engineering problems.

He discussed MATLAB’s advanced features, syntaxes, and toolboxes and explored various scientific computing topics in the online lecture.

Prof Arshad encouraged the participants to apply these techniques in different domains and develop innovative solutions and discoveries.

He also proposed the idea of organising three more such FDPs in the coming session.

Mr Mohd Danish (FDP Coordinator) delivered the welcome address, gave the programme overview and spoke on the achievements of the program resource persons from various institutes, colleges and universities.

Mr Afsar Husain (FDP Co-coordinator) extended the vote of thanks.
