Covestro showcased next-gen LED lighting solutions at Light India 2018
New Delhi: At the 4th edition of Light India 2018, Covestro, a polymer manufacturing giant showcased material solutions based on high-performance polycarbonate for applications in optics, light guides and heat sinks at Stall no L 585 and in Hall 11.
Light India 2018 opened its door again on 11th October 2018 addressing the interest of those associated with the sector. Several other companies have set their stage at this exhibition namely Havells, Philips, Orient and many more. The event will be open till 13th October 2018.
Covestro, a EUR 14.1 billion polymer manufacturing giant believes that the LED lighting industry is booming, taking into consideration the Government initiatives like Electrifying India, and to provide the electricity to all the people of the country which shall also be achieved by saving energy and limit the carbon footprint by introducing the lighting systems like LED.
Talking about the opportunity for the polymer industry in the LED lighting solutions, Mr. Ajay Durrani, MD, Covestro (India) said, “Developing innovative and sustainable solutions is at the core of our operations. Covestro offers a range of polycarbonate resins and blends, along with application support, for designers and manufacturers in the LED lighting industry. Polycarbonates allow the designers to develop the LED parts with more design freedom and also enhance the productivity which is not possible with the traditional materials.”
Covestro has been actively involved in developing energy-efficient and resource-friendly LED lighting for years. The show helped to introduce few innovative product technologies for the next generation LED lighting products such as PC based UV established raw material for the LED luminaries secondary Optics& the Thermally conductive polycarbonate portfolio.
The LED industry has grown exponentially over the past decade and will continue to do it at 22% CAGR till 2022. Reports suggest that India’s Energy demands are on a rise, therefore, generates the need for an increase in production, which must go hand in hand with new product and advanced manufacturing technologies which helps in the carbon emission reduction.
