DC Ganderbal distributes 15 Motorized Tricycles among Specially abled

 

GANDERBAL : On the recommendation of Social Welfare Department Ganderbal, 15 Motorized Tricycles were distributed in favour of the specially abled persons by Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna here at Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of the scheme is to make their mobility easier so that they can live respected and hassle free life and can earn their livelihood to support their families and the students can pursue their education smoothly.

District Social Welfare Officer informed that the Scheme was launched during the year 1997 through the State Rehabilitation Council and the District Social Welfare Officer of respective districts as the nodal agency. Till date 50 such Tricycles have been distributed among the eligible beneficiaries since inception of the scheme.

He further informed that the eligibility for the sanction is that the applicant should be in the age group of 18 to 50 years having income not more than Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum with minimum 40% disability of lower limbs.
