KVK Bandipora celebrates Poshan Vatika Maha Abhiyan, Tree Plantation programme

BANDIPORA: One day programme on Poshan Vatika Maha Abhiyan and Tree Plantation was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bandipora in association with IFFCO in which more than 100 farmers and farm women participated.

The chief guest on the occasion, Ghulam Rasool Khan, BDC Chairman Bandipora appreciated the role of KVK in motivating farmers and farmwomen to adopt latest techniques and technologies to boost agriculture sector in the district.

On the occasion, experts from Division of Food Science & Technology SKUAST-K, Dr Afsah Iqbal Nehvi and Dr Imtiyaz Ahmad Zargar delivered lectures on “Health benefits of fruits and vegetables” and “Value Addition of fruits and Vegetables” respectively. Incharge Programme Coordinator Dr. Tariq Sultan highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition in human diet and stressed upon the need of establishing nutri-gardens.

During the event vegetable seed kits and seedlings were distributed among the participants.
