Roll Ball Association delegation calls on Advisor Farooq Khan
JAMMU : A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Roll Ball Association led by its working President, Omar Mustafa Veeri, today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, to discuss issues regarding promotion and streamlining of Roll Ball Game in the Union Territory.
The delegation apprised the Advisor of the present scenario of this potential sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation requested incorporation of Roll Ball sports in the appointment of outstanding sports persons under rules 1998 read with SRO 349 of 1998 and SRO 376 of 2004. They further demanded separate Roll Ball ground in Jammu city besides holding of national level events in Srinagar.
Advisor, while interacting with the delegation, said that the government is taking numerous steps towards betterment of all sports and games especially those which have not been recognized at national and international Level. He said that efforts are afoot to polish raw talent among budding players so as to prepare them for national events by providing them best coaching and related facilities.
Advisor exhorted upon the youth for taking part in games which have already been recognized by Asian and Olympics games so that we emerge as a major sporting nation at international level. He assured the delegation that all the genuine issues will be looked into for redressal.
Among others Madhu Khajuria, General Secretary J&K Roll Ball Association; Sudhir Singh, Joint Secretary; Hiteshwar Singh International player and Rashak Jaindial, Captain were present.
