KIET Group of Institutions Collaborates with Biesse Group to Launch “Centre for Advanced Wood- working”- first ever training Centre in North India

Ghaziabad: KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad has collaborated with Biesse Group, a pioneer in designing and manufacturing machines for processing wood, glass, stone, metal and advanced materials, to establish ‘The Centre For Advanced Woodworking’ for the first time ever in Northern India. ‘The Centre for Advanced Woodworking’ aims at providing the necessary training and developing the required skills amongst the young professionals and budding entrepreneurs in the woodworking industry. The inauguration of the Centre has been done on 16th September 2021 by the Honorable Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises & Export Promotion, and Government of Uttar Pradesh Shri Sidharth Nath Singh. Honorable Minister of Medical and Health, Family Welfare Maternal and Child Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh Shri Atul Garg was also present at the event as the guest of honor.

Shri Siddharth Singh, Honorable Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises & Export Promotion, and Government of Uttar Pradesh emphasized that youth is advanced enough to learn through technology but we need to motivate and enlighten the parents. He further stated that the youth can only get the job, if businesses will flourish. He also shared that the global industries want to come to India in comparison to any other developed country because they believe India has a better potential for skilling their young generation. He informed that the government has tied up with Tata and Siemens and established the “Defense Centre of Excellence” and until the engineering or medical students take the skill certification from this Centre of Excellence, they will not be eligible to get the jobs. He went on to add that Vivo, OPPO and Samsung have also set up their manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh. Lastly, he gladly agreed to offer opportunities to KIET and Biesse India’s collaborative venture and stressed that KIET will have to come forward to give its best in providing training, skills as well as products for the same. Honorable Minister of Medical and Health, Family Welfare Maternal and Child Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Atul Garg inspired and invited the youth to encash this opportunity for sowing the seed of their startups.

The CAW will resonate Biesse Group’s vision of ‘Think Forward’ and will re-establish the company’s belief in staying focused on the future. The first batch of 10 students will start their course on the same day the CAW is getting inaugurated. Biesse India has ensured the most advanced woodworking machinery and software is made available at CAW and will extend support in the development of professional training courses. The ‘CAD/CAM in Woodworking’ course will be launched during the inaugural event. It is designed in a way that the students will get ample hands-on experience on both machines and software.

After successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a training certificate ‘CAD/CAM in Woodworking” jointly by KIET Group of Institutions, Biesse India, and Furniture and Fittings Skill Council.

Representatives from both KIET Group of Institutions and Biesse India were also present at the event. Mr. Stefano Bottene, Sales & Marketing Director, Biesse India and Mr. Prahallada K.N., Chief Program Officer, Biesse India represented the Biesse Group. Shri Sarish ji, Shri Sunil P. Gupta ji, Dr. Manoj Goel were also present at the event representing KIET. Also present at the event were Mr. Rahul Mehta, CEO, Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), Dr Ashish Karnwal, Dr Anurag, Dr Neha Bhadauriya, Dr Smriti and others. The inauguration ceremony happened in the KIET campus in Ghaziabad. The ‘Centre for Advanced Woodworking’ in KIET, is the first ever training Centre in North India.
