The NorthCap University hosts interactive session for ‘Going Global Partnerships 2021’ in line with NEP 2020, in collaboration with British Council and Haryana State Higher Education Council
Gurugram: The NorthCap University hosted an interactive session facilitated by Haryana State Higher Education Council and British Council for the “Going Global Partnerships 2021.” During the event, Hon’ble Shri Kanwar Pal Gujjar, Minister of Education, Govt of Haryana shared his special remarks on Haryana Education. The Vice Chancellors of private and state funded universities were also in attendance of the session.
ln keeping with the spirit of NEP-2020 for strong focus on internationalization in providing students flexibility and creating a customized program of study, British Council, the UK’s educational and cultural opportunities organisation, has launched ‘Going Global Partnerships’. Through the ’Going Global Partnerships’, British Council aims to strengthen India-UK partnerships by funding co-developed, joint programmes of study.
The informative session on the “Going Global Partnerships 2021” began at 11 am with a welcome address by Dr. Nupur Prakash, Vice-Chancellor, The NorthCap University. Speaking on the informative session she addressed the attendees and said “It’s a matter of immense pleasure for the NorthCap University to host the informative session on the UK-India Global partnerships jointly organized by the British Council and Haryana State Higher Education Council at our beautiful campus in the millennium city of Gurugram. As you all know that today we have gathered here for an interactive session on “Global Partnerships” in line with the spirit of NEP-2020 for a strong focus on internationalization. The ‘Going Global Partnerships’ campaign has been launched by the British Council providing flexibility to Indian students. The grant being offered is aimed at India-UK partnerships for the co-creation of joint programmes of study. The partnerships will increase the exchange of ideas, knowledge and deepen understanding through the creation of teaching modules with shared objectives, delivery plans, assessment, and quality assurance processes.”
Special remarks were made by Prof. B.K. Kuthiala, Chairperson, Haryana State Higher Education Council. He addressed all the attendees and said “This is a small but a very distinguished gathering. It rarely happens that academic leaders sit together and talk to each other. British council became the medium and reason of this gathering. The proposal they made to us had to be accepted. We felt this is the right time to expand the collaborations between different systems of education, particularly higher education. Also, collaborations between the universities of the nation and collaboration with universities across the globe.”
He further expressed gratitude towards the NorthCap University and said “I was the dean academic affairs and also on the board of governors for three years at NCU. I have seen this university growing from an engineering college to a university that has a huge reputation not only all over the country but also across the globe. We thank the NorthCap University and the Vice Chancellor for hosting this event.”
At the event opening remarks were offered by Rashi Jain, Director North India, British Council; she said, “India and the UK share a longstanding relationship in education collaboration; and we are committed to enabling internationalisation in higher education systems in India. The ‘Going Global Partnerships’ will create opportunities for young people in India and the UK, to experience an international learning experience, while delivering on the knowledge ambitions of both our countries.”
The event moved ahead with Rittika Chanda Parruck, Director Education, British Council India setting the context of the informative session and presenting information on the “Going Global Partnerships Grant 2021” which was followed by an open discussion amongst all the attendees. The event concluded with remarks by Shri K.K. Agnihotri, Advisor, Haryana State Higher Education Council.
