NSS Unit of GCW Parade organises Medical Camp

 

JAMMU : Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu, under the auspices of its NSS Unit, Thursday organized a Medical Camp in collaboration with Indian Institute of Medicine (J&K).

The camp was held under the supervision of the Principal of the college, Dr. S.P. Sarswat and coordinated by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, Assistant Professor, Chemistry and NSS Program Officer, Dr. Mohammad Majeed (HOD) Urdu Department and NSS Program Officer and Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed, Assistant Professor Zoology and NSS Program Officer.

Two resource persons Dr Manisha and Dr Sangeeta from Indian Institute of Medicine (J&K) were invited for the event.

Dr. Manisha delivered a lecture on Pranayamas and replied to the queries of the volunteers related to various problems like back pain, thyroid etc in an interactive session.

The other half of the session was facilitated by Dr. Sangeeta. She demonstrates various asanas and pranayamas for better physical and mental health. All the Volunteers took active part in the session and later performed their favourite asanas.

At the end, they had a meditation session where they focused on the breath work. Around 100 medical kits were provided to the volunteers and students.

Around 30 Volunteers were part of the said camp. All the volunteers plus the faculty present in the event took proper precautions in consideration with ongoing pandemic. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
