Ujjwala 2.0: DC Reasi flaggs off Special Purpose vehicle to generate awareness
Special camps being held to include leftover beneficiaries
REASI : Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh on Friday flagged off a special purpose vehicle for creating awareness among the public about the Ujjwala 2.0 (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana), in the district.
While briefing the media, the Deputy Commissioner informed that Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a scheme of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for providing LPG connections to women of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) households, and after attaining the phase 1 target, the Prime Minister has launched version 2 of the Ujjwala scheme to include the leftover beneficiary under its ambit.
“This measure of including the leftovers will empower women and protect their health,” he added.
He also informed that the special purpose vehicles have been launched for the collection of data and documents and identify locations for holding special to be organised by oil companies to provide free LPG connections to leftover families.
“These special purpose vehicles will be received by the representatives of PRIs and officials of FCS and CA and shall facilitate in getting the new connections to the beneficiaries,” the DC said.
Moreover, a detailed calendar has been issued with camp location, dates and times where the public can reach.
The special camps will be held at Bhoomag, Arnas, Thuroo, Mahore, Gulabgarh, Chassana, Sungri, Pouni, Reasi and Katra.
