ANU: ANU appoints new Head of Clinical Services at Kambri clinic
ANU has appointed Dr Belinda Doherty as the Head of Clinical Services at the Kambri GP clinic as part of its commitment to the continuity of high-quality healthcare services on campus.
While the National Health Co-Op (NHC) has gone into administration, the NHC GP clinic in Kambri has continued to operate and is open to anyone in the community.
The Administrators are continuing to provide healthcare services at the clinic with the plan to hand over operations to ANU in the near future.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and University Experience) Professor Ian Anderson said the University remained committed to providing access to high-quality health care on campus.
“I thank our community for their patience and understanding while we worked through this change,” he said.
“Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all NHC staff and patients at this difficult time.”
Professor Anderson said the ANU Student Counselling Service has not been affected by NHC’s circumstances and will continue to provide appointments to students as per normal.
“We’re working towards providing better integration with other health and wellbeing services on campus,” he said.
Dr Doherty said the clinic is using the same secure patient record systems as other GP clinics in the community.
“We’re safely transferring data from NHC that will be stored outside of ANU systems,” she said.
Dr Doherty said the clinic will also continue to take patient bookings through HotDocs online portal.
“The clinic will also continue to play a role in the vaccination program in response to COVID-19,” she said.
The NHC, with the exception of the ANU clinic, will be restructured into six independently owned and operated GP clinics from 2 October 2021.
