DLSA Udhampur educates Transgender persons about their rights
UDHAMPUR : As part of the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign being held under the aegis of “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV), District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur under the guidance of its Chairman, today organized a Legal Awareness Programme on the rights of Transgender through Virtual Mode.
The Programme was inaugurated by the DLSA Secretary (Sub-judge). The Secretary Interacted with the Transgender and emphasized the importance of sensitizing the weaker sections of the society, especially Transgender about their rights and govt schemes. The DLSA Secretary also enquired about the grievances of transgender.
The Resource Persons of the Programme were Advocate Akhil Dubey, Advocate Balwan Singh and Advocate Mallikarjun Singh Slathia. The resource persons made the Transgender aware about their Legal Rights and informed them about the latest Court rulings upholding the dignity of the Transgender.
The Programme was also attended by Chairman, TLSC, Ramnagar, Smriti Sharma (Sub Judge), Chairman TLSC Chenani Amandeep Kour (Munsiff); Chairman TLSC Majalta Priyanka Mahajan (Munsiff), all Panel Lawyers and all PLVs of DLSA Udhampur.
