PetrSU teams in the Energy Laboratory 2021
Students of the Physico-Technical Institute under the guidance of senior lecturers of the Department of Energy Supply of Enterprises and Energy Saving D.Ye. Petrushina and E.A. Zavarkina are taking an online part in the Energy Laboratory 2021 acceleration program, which was opened at the Irkutsk National Research Technical University on the basis of the Technopark.
Irkutsk National Research Technical University, together with the Russian energy company EuroSibEnergo, is carrying out the Energy Laboratory acceleration program for the fourth time , which has been created in the interests of En + Group enterprises since 2018.
Compared to last year, the number of participating teams has increased from 28 to 35 teams. Also, compared to last year, the number of participating universities increased – from 7 to 9, the number of participating cities from 5 to 7. This year, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh and Petrozavodsk will become participating cities.
As part of the program, participants will have presentation sessions, where teams will meet with experts to discuss cases, an educational intensive and the highlight of the program – excursions to production facilities (hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants and others) in order to advance in the development of their design solutions.
In order to receive the coveted grants, the participants will need a lot of energy, but first they have to answer one of the main questions: “Why do they take part in the Energy Laboratory acceleration program? We wish the participants a productive solution to the cases in order to reach the final and get the coveted grant for the implementation of projects,
– noted the organizers of the event.
Issues developed by the teams of the Physico-Technical Institute of PetrSU include the following topics: “Use of low-potential energy sources at HPPs (waste heat from HPP equipment)”; “Alternative methods of thermal insulation of pipelines”; “Reducing the cost of clearing the routes of overhead power transmission lines (OHL) of JSC” IESK “from tree and shrub vegetation (DKR)”.
Denis Petrushin, senior lecturer at the Department of Energy Supply for Enterprises and Energy Saving of the Physico-Technical Institute, noted:
For students, this is a very good format of “extracurricular” activities – it acquaints students with real particular tasks that the industry faces today, and helps the organizers of the event bring a fresh look at the identified problem.
