DC Kishtwar reviews implementation of initiatives under Mission Youth

 

KISHTWAR : Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma today chaired the District Level Task Force meeting to discuss various modalities and measures for effective implementation of various schemes under Mission Youth in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal; General Manager DIC Khalid Hussain Malik; Assistant Commissioner Development Kishore Singh Katoch; SDM Paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak; District Panchayat Officer Sunil Kumar; ACP Zakir Hussain Wani; DSWO Tariq Parveaz Qazi; DSEO Akhil Sen; ALC/AD, DE&CC Amit Kumar; CEO, DYSSO besides other concerned officers.

At the outset the Officer on Special Duty for Mission Youth, Anoop Kumar gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the aims and objectives envisioned under the Mission.

While briefing about various aspects of livelihood and career counseling initiatives envisaged under Mission Youth, he informed that 500 youth will be provided benefits under SAHYTA scheme, 2000 students will be provided coaching for various competitive exams including UPSC, SSC, JKPSC, JKSSB etc.

The DC took stock of progress made in implementation of MUMKIN and TEJASWINI schemes in the district.

He was apprised that 27 small commercial vehicles have been provided to applicants so far and more vehicles will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries as soon as sanction is provided.

The meeting was informed that Youth clubs have been constituted in all 136 Panchayats and 13 wards which have linked 2660 youth volunteers with the Mission.

The Deputy Commissioner underlined the need to hold special training/ skill development programmes in consultation with the Mission Youth to help the Youth to enhance their employability skills.

He also directed the concerned officers to generate mass awareness about the schemes being implemented by their Departments under the Mission by roping in the members of Youth club in the process of dissemination of awareness.
