GDC Marh organises HIV awareness promotional video Contest

 

JAMMU : Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College, Marh in association with J&K AIDS control society, H&ME Department, Jammu, today organised an intra-college promotional video contest as part of HIV Awareness Campaign.

The event was held under the patronage of the College Principal, Prof. Aekta Gupta.

This Awareness campaign was organised under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ India @ 75( Phase 2).

A number of students participated in this activity and made interesting videos on HIV awareness.

The participants were judged by Prof. Anita Kumari, Head, Department of English and Prof. Ashu Jolly, Head, Department of Education.

Muskan Chib of Sem II was adjudged first, Sushant Bhagat of Sem II secured second position and third position was bagged by Archana Devi of Sem I. The winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 respectively.

In this event, students prepared self-videos of 30-60 seconds highlighting the causes, factors attached to HIV, how to prevent it and the need to stand with this cause.

Principal of the College, Prof. Aekta Gupta appreciated the efforts of all the participants and stressed that such campaigns aim at enhancing the risk perception and preventing HIV among youth. The event was organized by Prof. Anjana Chib, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club and co-ordinated by the members of Red Ribbon Club, Prof. Sachin Kumar and Dr. Shakun Sharma.
