The former glacier Okjökull made international headlines in the summer of 2019 when Rice anthropologists Cymene Howe and Dominic Boyer organized the first memorial service for a glacier lost to climate change. Now, it has inspired an orchestral work. “OK, Goodbye,” composed by Marcus Maroney, had its world premiere Sept. 25 with the Houston chamber orchestra ROCO.
