DDC Rajouri discusses issues regarding construction of GDC buildings
RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting with the concerned officers to review the issues regarding the construction of Government Degree College buildings in the district.
Among the others, ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; Principal GDC Doongi, Shamim Ahmed; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn JKPCC, Arshed and concerned officer from the Geology and Mining Department attended the meeting.
Discussing issues pertaining to GDC Doongi, it was informed that the project has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 36 crores and 75 kanals and 07 marlas of state land also stands identified but the work on the building is held up currently due to the want of Administrative approval.
About GDC Koteranka, it was apprised that 34 kanals of land has been identified but the land has been rejected by the Geology and Mining Department as the strata of the proposed land is loose and therefore not fit for construction purpose.
The DDC asked the ADC Koteranka, Principal GDC Koteranka and concerned officer from Geology and Mining Department to again visit the site and check out the possibilities which could favour the construction work and submit the report at the earliest.
Regarding GDC Darhal, it was informed that mutation of the land is complete, Administrative Approval has also been received but the work on the building is withheld due to litigations from the locals over some issues.
Taking stock of the progress on GDC Sunderbani and GDC Kalakote, the DDC directed the concerned officers to speed up the work and ensure that the projects are completed within the set timelines so that necessary benefits are provided to the students with the completion of projects.
