SPbPU: SPbPU entered the top 50 universities of the international ranking THE EE
SPbPU was ranked 41st in the Times Higher Education’s ranking of universities in emerging economies — a total of 698 universities from 50 countries.
Polytechnic University has competitive performance in terms of research citations, income from innovation and industry, and international activity (the share of foreign faculty, students, and articles in international co-authorship). Compared to last year, the university showed a positive trend in four of the five ranking categories assessed, including education and research.
This ranking, above all, illustrates the confident position of those universities, which rely on increasing the volume of research, contracts with the corporate sector. Our main advantage is our high demand from industrial partners. Polytechnic University is among the top 10 universities of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in terms of R&D volumes and, of course, it is important to note our partnerships with Rosatom, Gazprom and other companies that are developing cooperation with Polytechnic University, noted Rector of SPbPU, RAS Academician Andrei RUDSKOI.
«Along with capitalization of R&D market potential, it is important to note the strategic focus of knowledge transfer and education export development,» comments Maria Vrublevskaya, Head of Strategic Planning and Development Programs at SPbPU. «Almost a fifth of our students come to us from other countries. We open new dual-degree programs, translate summer and winter schools into an online format, and launch free online courses to make Polytechnic University’s expertise accessible to our students and trainees. And despite the difficulties and limitations of the pandemic, we plan to actively develop international competitiveness among rapidly developing countries.
