Victoria Plotnikova, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of PetrSU, spoke about the key accents of the upcoming online event:

We have chosen two new themes for this year: the development of creative tourism and wellness. Time dictates these trends. In the first case, we are talking about an innovative combination of various activities, expanding the idea of what travelers will like. Wellness tourism is relevant now because in today’s world it is important to maintain physical and emotional health. Of course, here we will also talk about postcoid recovery,
– explained Victoria Plotnikova.
Personnel training will be discussed in a separate block at the conference. More than 200 full-time and part-time students study at PetrSU in the direction of tourism and hotel business. Currently, professional standards for specialists in the tourism industry are being improved, which should be reflected in the training programs. This will allow graduates of educational institutions to remain competitive in the labor market and be in demand in the profession. According to the Department of Labor and Employment of Karelia, now there are 97 vacancies in the republic in the field of tourism and hotel business.

The conference will also raise the topic of designing tourist routes, creating author’s excursions, training specialists for museums and others.
