Director Agriculture Kashmir reviews implementation of CSSs
BUDGAM: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today reviewed the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) and Flagship programs in a meeting of officers, here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the department is determined to improve the socio economic status of the farming community.
The meeting reviewed scheme wise achievements and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes of the Department.
The meeting was informed in detail about different schemes including Rashitra Krishi Vikas Yojna, National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, National Mission of Agriculture Extension and Technology, National Food Security Mission, Soil Health Card Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana , Pradhan Mantri Krishi Seenchayee Yojana, PM-Kissan and others currently being implemented by the Department.
The Director reiterated the need for maximizing the reach of different schemes. He said the ultimate purpose of these schemes is achieved only when the benefit reaches the farmer at grass roots level. He urged the officers to explore new ways and means to reach the farmer and address his issues.
Regarding the inclement weather, the Director asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination with the farmers for the post harvest management of their produce.
Earlier, Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam, Syed Tafazal Hussain Madni gave a detailed powerpoint presentation regarding various achievements during the Kharief season 2021.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Farooq Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Agriculture Extension Sheikh Shahid Iqbal, Joint Director Agriculture Farms Dr. Syed Waseem Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Apiculture and Mushroom Mohammad Syed and senior officers the department.
