Block Diwas: DC Kathua listens to public grievances at Border Village Bobiya
KATHUA : Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today presided over a Block Diwas meeting here at Border Village Bobiya in Tehsil Hiranagar and listened to the grievances of the locals.
Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of People attended the outreach programme.
The programme also witnessed a number of individuals and deputations including PRI members projecting demands and apprising DC Kathua about the problems of their respective areas.
The people submitted a memorandum of demands highlighting issues and demanding better road connectivity, drinking water supply in uncovered areas and provision of uninterrupted power supply.
The other main issues highlighted during the programme included pending land compensation, MGNREGA liabilities, shifting of old poles, improvement in road connectivity from Karol Krishna to Karol Bidho road, Khanwal to lower Khanwal road and opening of schools etc.
Sarpanch, Bobiya panchayat Bharat Bhushan sought early disbursement of Land compensation, land demarcation near International fence, provision of Tubewells, better mobile network connectivity and availability of fertilizers.
The DC gave patient hearing to the demands of the people and passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues. He stressed upon the officers to prioritise the grievances and redress them in a time bound manner.
Responding to the demand of early completion of the Power Receiving Station in the border area, the DC passed directions to XEN PDD to expedite the process and complete it in the shortest possible time.
On the issue of pending compensation due to BOPs along the border, the DC assured that the matter will be resolved at the earliest.
The DC, called upon the local farmers who have their land across zero line, to start cultivation so that the area can be fully utilised as there is complete ceasefire on the International Border. He said the issues of local farmers will be taken up with BSF authorities for their smooth passage to their respective lands alongwith security. He also assured that a meeting with BSF authorities involving all stakeholders will be convened soon for redress of the issues of either side.
SDM Hiranagar, ACP, XEN Jal Shakti, XEN PWD, XEN Flood Control, AEE PDD, AEE Irrigation, CAO, CHO, BMO and concerned officers were also present.
