Workshop on Medical Education Technologies

 

Aligarh : Over 30 faculty members from various departments of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were imparted training to teach medical students as per Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) under the Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER) 2019 in the ‘Revised Basic Course Workshop and AETCOM in Medical Education Technologies’ of the Medical Education Unit (MEU), Faculty of Medicine, JNMC.

“Medical education is rapidly changing, influenced by many factors including the changing health care environment, the changing role of the physician, altered societal expectations, rapidly changing medical science, and the diversity of pedagogical techniques—and the use of technologies for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education is becoming increasingly important”, said Prof Rakesh Bhargava, Dean, Faculty of Medicine.

Prof Seema Hakim Coordinator, MEU pointed out: Workshops like these help the faculty members in knowledge acquisition, improving their decision making, enhancing perceptual variation and improving skill coordination. These workshops also help create an educational environment that engages the learner and allows learning that does not endanger the patient.

She was also one of the resource persons along with Prof S Manazir Ali (Co-coordinator MEU), Prof Shagufta Moin, Prof Saira Mehnaz, Dr Nasreen Noor, Dr Fatima Khan, Dr Ruhi Khan, Dr Ali Jafar Abedi, Dr Sufia Naseem, Dr Bushra Siddiqui and Dr Ummul Baneen.

Prof Sanjoy Das (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun) as an observer from National Medical Commission (NMC) supervised the workshop and distributed certificates to the participants.

Prof Saira Mehnaz (MEU Member) extended the vote of thanks.
