University of Exeter: The Exeter MBA secures UK top 4 in ‘better world’ sustainability ranking

The Exeter MBA was 12th best globally out of a total of 147 MBA programmes.

The prestigious rankings measure how Business Schools’ core courses and research are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and diversity of faculty members.

“In the aftermath of COP26 it seems that businesses have come alive to the importance of sustainable practices, from reducing their carbon footprint to addressing ways to waste less and consider biodiversity loss in their decision-making.

“Our Exeter MBA students are part of a new generation of ‘leaders for a better world’, equipped with the skills and knowledge that will help them thrive in this new business environment.

“I am so proud that the Corporate Knights’ Better World 2021 ranking recognises the hard work put in by our outstanding academics to ensure this is the case,” said Jackie Bagnall, Programme Director of The Exeter MBA.

Business Schools were graded by five indicators: the number of institutes and centres aligned with – and percentage of core courses that have integrated – the UN Sustainability Goals, faculty research publications and citations on sustainable development themes, and faculty gender and racial diversity.

“Every MBA program in the world should be instilling holistic purpose in leaders, ensuring they have the skills, tools and values to build a more inclusive, healthier economy that’s beneficial to society and in harmony with the natural world, and the Better World business schools are leading the way,” said Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights.
