University of Mannheim: First place at the PR-Bild Award

In the social media category, the “top class” photo that Matthias Hangst took of basketball player Britta Daub received the most votes

At this year’s PR Bild Award from the dpa subsidiary news aktuell, a photo submitted by the University of Mannheim won first place in the social media category. The picture by photographer Matthias Hangst shows basketball player Britta Daub. The business mathematics student is supported with a top-class sport scholarship for the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, which helps her to reconcile her studies and high-performance sport.

The photo prize is awarded in six different categories every year. A jury of experts and an online vote, in which 28,000 people took part this time, decide who wins.
