Dr. Surender Kumar Sharma from CUPB Dept. of Physics and Dr. Sandeep Kaur from CUPB Dept. of Economics contributed to this accomplishment by getting an International Joint Research Project each in the field of nano science and social sciences respectively
Dr. Surender Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, CUPB Dept. of Physics received a joint research project in nano science discipline under the India-Slovenia Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation programme funded by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and Slovenian Research Agency, Republic of Slovenia. The title of the project is ‘Investigation of ferrimagnetic vortex iron oxide-based nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia applications. Under this project Dr. Surender Kumar Sharma (CUPB, India) will work in collaboration with Dr. Darko Makovec, Dept. for Materials Synthesis, Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia, to develop supplementary thermal therapy (an alternate to current chemotherapy) for cancer treatment. The project is of three years duration and in this tenure, DST will provide funding of about Rs 15 Lakh to researchers. Under this project, there will total be 12 visits each of 15-30 days (6 for Indian researchers and 6 for Slovenian researchers) over the next 3 years to carry this research.
