DIC Jammu educates FCI trainees about PMEGP scheme

 

JAMMU : The District Industries Centre, Jammu today educated a group of youth, who completed one month training organised by the Food Craft Institute of India, about the incentives provided under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP] and encouraged them to avail the benefits of flagship employment scheme.

The training was organised at Village Dhammi Bhara, Nagrota, Jammu and concluded today.

Mohammad Ashraf Chowdhary, Project Manager, District Industries Centre, Jammu highlighted the benefits of “Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP].” He said that the un-employed youth can avail the credit linked subsidized loans by starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors. He further highlighted that loans upto Rs10.00 lakh and up to Rs 25.00 lakh can be availed under the service and manufacturing sector, respectively with a margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35%. A person of minimum 18 year age can apply under this scheme.

Moreover, the beneficiary under this scheme becomes eligible for expansion of previous PMEGP unit for up to Rs. 25 lakh in Service Sector and up to Rs. 1 Crore in Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time. He further highlighted the objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria in detail.

Principal Food Craft Institute Jyoti Bhatti, while speaking at the concluding ceremony, impressed upon the trainees to approach DIC Jammu for getting the financial assistance under PMRY so as to start their ventures.
