GDC Samba named after Pt. Prem Nath Dogra
SAMBA : Govt. Degree College Samba was today renamed as Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Govt. Degree College here at simple ceremony held to remember the legendary Duggar leader and son of the Soil.
The renaming ceremony was organized in the College premises. Keshav Dutt Sharma, Chairman District Development Council Samba was the chief guest and Tilak Raj Sharma ADDC, Suram Chand Sharma, ADC DDC Samba members Ramesh Chander and Subash Bhagat were also present.
The guest of honour of the function, grandson and granddaughter-in-law of the legendary Duggar leader, Sangeeta Dogra & Naresh Dogra were also present.
The renaming ceremony started with Sarswati Vandhana and lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest, Guest of hounor and senior faculty members of the college. Dr, Naveen Anand, Principal of the College presented the welcome note and detailed report about the college.
Dr. Narsing Dass, Head of the Dogri Department gave a pen image of the legendary personality Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, his achievements and the journey of his life.
Sangeeta Dogra daughter-in-law of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra highlighted various aspects of the life of the eminent National Leader. She said his whole family is feeling honored at this moment.
The ADDC said that the renaming of College is a token tribute to Pandit Prem Nath Dogra.
Col. Akash Chinche, Dr. M.S. Pathania, Principal Government Women Degree College Kathua, Dr. D.K Gandotra, former associate professor Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director, and all teaching and non-teaching staff of the college were present on the occasion.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Head of the Chemistry department.
