Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: More than 4 thousand people participated in the end of the year celebration of the UC Community in Fantasilandia

Children and adults enjoyed the outdoor games and roller coasters of Fantasilandia in what was the traditional celebration of the end of the year at the Catholic University. After recreational activity was suspended in 2020 due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19, on this occasion more than 4 thousand people who work at the UC participated, who did so in many cases accompanied by their children.

The activity, which was organized by the UC People Directorate , allowed administrative officials, professionals and members of the academic body to share and recreate with their co-workers and families after an extensive period of confinement due to the health crisis. The amusement park was also attended by various authorities of the institution, such as the rector Ignacio Sánchez, the economic vice-rector, Loreto Massanés and the director of UC People, Fernanda Vicuña, among others.

Various protection measures were put in place against COVID-19 to protect the safety of people and as an innovation, a digital entry system was incorporated on this occasion through QR codes and physical food tickets. The vast majority of the games in this amusement park located in Parque O’Higgins were open during the day that lasted between 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

On this occasion, the cleaning and garden staff who joined the UC through the internalization process that took place in 2021 also participated in the celebrations for the first time.

“Good work requires commitment, team and a lot of love. The celebration in Fantasilandia was also a well-deserved afternoon of relaxation and entertainment for academics, administrators and professionals, as well as for the collaborators in cleaning and garden tasks who became part of the UC in 2021 and who participated in the activities ”, he stated Fernanda Vicuña, director of People UC.
