Montblanc pays homage to James Dean in Hollywood-style evening in Bangalore
New Delhi: Channelling the glitz and glamour of 1950’s Hollywood, Montblanc showcased its James Dean writing instrument collection at an exclusive reception held this week at Conrad Hotel Bengaluru, India.
Hosted at by Franck Juhel, President of Montblanc Middle East, India and Africa, the event was attended by more than 100 VIP customers, media, influencers and friends of the Maison. Inspired by James Dean, the evening transported guests to the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age, including a red carpet ‘Walk of Fame’ and live entertainment.
The event showcased the Montblanc Great Characters Limited Edition James Dean™ collection; a tribute to the rebellious spirit and talent of the immortal movie legend and one of the greatest male movie stars of his time. Available as a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pen, the collection is rich in details, referencing elements of his short but significant acting career. Crafted in red precious resin, to recall the vibrant colour of Dean’s red jacket worn in his second film Rebel without a Cause – one of the first Technicolor productions in Hollywood – the barrel and cap are also patterned to evoke the structure of jeans, a garment most often worn by James Dean in his films. The ruthenium-coated clip of the writing instrument is shaped to reference the gun that his character Jett Rink toted in Giant, while the cap includes an engraving of one of his most famous quotes: “Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today.”
Franck Juhel, President of Montblanc Middle East, India and Africa said: “We are delighted to showcase Montblanc’s latest Great Characters collection at this special event in Bangalore. With entertainment rooted in India’s culture, we know that James Dean and Montblanc’s tribute to him as one of the world’s great cultural movie icons will be greatly appreciated.”
The Montblanc Great Characters Limited Edition James Dean was also on display in Montblanc’s newly opened boutique in The Conrad in Bangalore. The collection is now available in Montblanc boutiques across India.
