GDC Doda organizes ‘Selfie with daughter’ contest to celebrate National Girl Child Day under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav

Doda: To celebrate National Girl Child Day under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the NSS, NCC (Infantry & Navy) and IQAC units of Government Degree College, Doda organized a ‘Selfie with daughter’ contest. The event was organized under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. About 25 students the college participated in this online event. The event was organized to glorify the exemplary and the inspirational accomplishments of daughters in the different sectors of human civilization. The photographs in the form of selfies were invited from the participants. The photographs were compiled by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, NSS Programme Officer of the college and adjudged by Prof. Akrity Parihar and Prof. Purnima Manhas. The 1st rank was shared by Ifra Batoo and Manakshi Katoch of 5th Semester while the 2nd and 3rd rank in the contest was obtained by Nazia Tabussum (3rd Semester) and Rahul Singh (5th Semester). E-certificates were issued to the rank holders. Dr. Ajaz A. Wani, IQAC Coordinator, Prof. Zain Batt, CTO, NCC (Navy) and Dr. Arjun Singh, CTO, NCC (Infantry) played an important role in the maximum outreach of this online event. The organization of these events help to reiterate our commitments and further strengthen ongoing efforts to empower girl child.
