CUPB Vice Chancellor Prof. Tiwari encouraged the newly appointed faculty to ensure holistic development of the students during the Faculty Induction Program

Bathinda: To appraise the newly appointed faculty members regarding the University’s vision, mission, policies and, a Faculty Induction Program was organized at Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) on Friday.
On this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof.  Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari welcomed 37 newly recruited faculty members appointed during the special recruitment drive and congratulated them for becoming a part of the CUPB teaching fraternity. He shared that the CUPB is a research intensive university and our main objective is to build a student centric learning ecosystem and foster innovation and entrepreneurship among youngsters while ensuring effective implementation of the NEP2020 transformative reforms.  He highlighted that the University within a short span of 12 years of its establishment has obtained 84th rank nationwide in the University Category of NIRF Ranking 2021.  He shared that the University envisions to transform the young minds to serve the humanity through skills and innovation driven teaching and research; values and community outreach and by becoming ‘Vocal for Local’. He expressed hope that the expertise and experience of the newly appointed faculty would enable the University to actualize its mission in shorter span of time.  Prof.  Tiwari exhorted the newly appointed teachers to contribute to the development of the University and ensure holistic development of the youth through quality teaching and cutting-edge research. Owing to limited availability, we need to ensure optimal utilization of resources. He emphasised on quality publications and extra-mural research grants to be achieved by the faculty. Keeping in view the diverse student, teachers and staff population in the university, we need to develop cosmopolitan and co-existential frame of mind-set.
He also expressed that new teachers should learn from the preachings of Ten Guru Sahibans to take civilization discourse to the higher levels.
During this Faculty Induction Program senior teachers and officials introduced the university working system to the new faculty members. Dean Research Professor Anjana Munshi shared the details of Research Seed grant being provided by the university to new teachers for starting research.  She also shared the list of funding agencies from where faculty members can apply for research grants. After this, Dean-in-Charge Academic Prof.  R.K. Wusirika talked about various academic activities and shared the facilities available in the University. Thereafter Prof. Monisha Dhiman, IQAC Director and IIC President, talked about the best practices adopted at CUPB to ensure transparency in the university system. She asked them to visit University’s website for retrieving information about the university.
Addressing the participants, Dean Student Welfare Prof.  Vinod Kumar Garg while welcoming the teachers stated that students and faculty in this university represent around 25 States of India and even students from other countries are studying in this university and the newly appointed faculty need to act as catalysts to enable the students of CUPB to contribute in nation building  and respect each other’s culture and value system.
Towards the end of programme CUPB administration expressed good wishes for the successful career of new faculty members and ensured them to offer necessary support and comfortable working environment.
